Beijo Purses

Beijo means "kiss" in Portuguese, and founder Susan Handley named her successful business after her son's second word; Beijo. Founded in Florida in 2001, Beijo Purses started out as single mother Susan Handley's at-home start up business. Today, the Beijo buzz is a result of word of mouth and at-home parties. With no budget to support a marketing campaign or advertisement, Handley started out going door-to-door visiting boutiques in her Florida hometown and hosting handbag parties with her friends and neighbors.

Though large chains and designers have approached Susan to sell her designs, she maintains that at home parties and word of mouth is the way her company will continue to grow.

With their distinctive design and vivid colors, Beijo purses stand out on their own. Handley's business blossomed quickly into a success story. Susan's designs are modern, well shaped, and elegant. They come in 20 colors ranging from jewel stone hues to pretty pastels from pink to plum, and the mod metallic which is hot for fall 2005.

Until recently, Beijo has only been available in Europe and the East Coast of the United States. With an ever-expanding collection, now including baby bags and clutches, Beijo purses have something for everyone. As a way of giving some of her success back to the community, a portion of Beijo's sales will be donated to projects that support children, women's health, development, and education.

Fall Classic Buckle Collection- the classic silver buckle purses are a highlight of this collection. The purses are formed gorgeously in classic shapes, have smooth modern styling and the signature silver buckle. Choose from the vivid jewel-toned colors, metallic and pastel shades, or beach inspired hues.

"O" Ring Collection- the bold silver styling of the "O" Ring purse from Beijo is a must-have for hardware lovers. Each "O" bag has a distinctive silver "O" shape in the handle and solid silver hardware. Shiny silver against an array of colors makes this collection "O" so very hard to resist. Prices range from $40 to $125.

Metallic Neutrals- Metallic neutrals are hot this season and Beijo's shimmery shades are on top of the trends. The metallic look extends to the "O" Ring collection of purses as well as the Classic Buckle collection.

The same thing has happened to two of my beijo bags, although they were in a hot car, not next to anything that could bleed that I can think of. Anyone have ideas of how to fix them? I have tried magic eraser, surface cleaner, and goo gone with not success.

My beige Beijo was next to my purple handbag and now there is purple all over it. Nothing seems to work to get the purple off. Tried Goo-Gone, rubbing alcohol, eraser, baking soda, whitening toothpaste . . . any other suggestions? It is ruined already so I will try anything & if it works I will let you know.

I have an awesome beijo purse. I have scuffed and scratched it, not just black marks. Can it be cleaned? I heard car wax? Also, the metal strap holders on mine broke, anywhere to get replacement parts? Thanks, I don't want to have to trash my favorite purse!!

You clean it with a Mr. Clean magic eraser - no kidding - slightly dampened - and then wipe with a soft cloth! that easy! I'm surprised your sales rep didn't tell you. I own 4 of these bags and love them all - get compliments on them all the time - one I've had for 4 years and it still looks like new!
