Capezio Bags

The Capezio legacy began when Salvatore Capezio founded his small shoemaking company in New York City in 1887. With a dedication to detail and quality, the company grew to eventually provide footwear for some of the industry’s most famous dancers, including Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly and Anna Pavlova. The company continues to provide the footwear used by countless ballet companies and Broadway productions to this day.

While footwear continues to be the company’s forte, they have branched out into related areas, and now manufacture figure skates, dance apparel and Capezio dance bags.

Capezio bags are designed with the dancer in mind. Many Capezio dance bags include special compartments for dance shoes and zippered mesh pockets for damp clothing. The company offers their bags in black and a soft ballet pink, while some bags feature a combination of these two colors. The best feature of all is that each bag features the Capezio logo – something any aspiring or professional dancer would be pleased to carry.

There are several Capezio dance bags available:

  • Tote. The company offers a few different styles of tote dance bag, ranging from $18 to $40. The handy convertible tote bag converts to a backpack or messenger bag, and comes in red, black and pink.
  • Junior pro bag. The junior pro can pick up a bag made just for him or her for about $28. Four shoe pockets and various handy compartments make this the perfect bag for the serious dancer.
  • Garment bag. No dancer would want anything to happen to a costume, so garment bags, from $15 to $26, are a great way to keep those sequins safe.
  • Duffel bag. Taking everything to dance practice in a hurry requires a great duffel bag. Capezio offers bags from $15 to $42 in a range of styles. The convertible bag has a shoulder strap or can become a backpack if needed.
  • Ballet box. At $15, the ballet box is the perfect accessory to keep delicate Pointe shoes from being crushed.
  • Backpack. From their Frontline brand, Capezio offers a cute backpack for $15 with dance embroidered across it.

Though more than a century has passed since Capezio began his dancewear business, and the name continues to represent quality, style and superior craftsmanship in the dance industry. Any dancer would be pleased to have a Capezio dance bag of their own.
