A couple of years ago I just happened to pick up a D&B at a yard sale for like $1. Found this bag (a AWL satchel doctors bag) to be in the greatest condition for being an older bag, hence falling in love with the vintage bags. Ever since, I've found myself reading all about them and collecting as many as I can get my hands on. I now plan on selling them online. These are about the finest bags ever made. They last forever (providing the older cares for them), they hold alot, and are made with that ever so irresistible all-weather-leather so many other bag makers neglect to utilize when making everlasting bags. I'm glad to see they've brought back the line (now called contempary), but still not as well made as the originals. Keeping in mind some of these bag went for well over $200 back in the 1980's, the sorts they are producing today are a far cry from yester years.
