Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Taylor (husband of John Taylor from the 80's pop band Duran Duran) founded Juicy Couture, in 1994, as a designer T-shirt collection. In 1999, Juicy Couture made its foray into denim and sportswear and revealed their now- essential velour, terry cloth and cashmere tracksuits, with their signature style low-riding drawstring pants and form-fitting zip-up hoodies in an array of sumptuous colors.

Now most recognized for inventing the "sexy tracksuit", Skaist-Levy and Taylor have made their velour and terry cloth suits as popular as the little black dress.

Since it's opening, Juicy Couture was acquired by Liz Claiborne Inc. for an undisclosed multi-million-dollar sum. That's quite a success story for a designer of track suits, "Juicy Loves Martha" T-shirts and ruffled velvet tube dresses all manufactured with the signature Juicy logo - two Highland terriers holding a shield bearing three hearts and Love P and G (Pat and Gela, Juicy's creators). A crown lies overhead, while a Juicy Couture banner flies below with underling slogan "Made in the Glamorous U.S.A."

However, Juicy Couture's achievement in the fashion industry has been partly due to their relationship with the Hollywood sect. In fact, Juicy made a wise move when they invited top celebs such as Madonna, Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz to shop for free Juicy Couture designs. Have top style makers photographed in their tracksuits boosted the Juicy Couture label to "chic couture" status alongside long-standing popular celebrity favorites like Guess, Gucci and DKNY.

Today, under the Liz Claiborne Company umbrella, Juicy Couture markets both men's, women's and children's collections, as well as an assortment of Juicy Couture jewelry, handbags and swimwear with Skaist-Levy and Taylor still at the helm as co-presidents.
