Marc Jacobs Handbags and Purses

Born in New York City in 1963, Marc Jacobs' life has been moving in the direction of high fashion since he set foot in the High School of Art and Design he attended as a teenager. As a young man, Jacobs attended the Parson School of Design, where he made his mark as an up-and-coming innovative young designer. It was at Parson that Jacobs designed his first collection. His hand-knit sweaters were distributed by well-known store Charivari. Owner Barbara Weister gave young Marc his first break and the name on the label of his knitwear collection was Marc Jacobs for Marc and Barbara. His life in style had begun

At Parson, Jacobs stood out immediately. He won numerous awards including his first of many Perry Ellis awards and Design Student of the Year. These awards would be just the beginning of the accolades Marc Jacobs the fashion designer would win in his future.

In spite of his glowing beginning on the fashion scene, Jacobs became known widely as the designer who designed a "grunge" collection for Perry Ellis. Marc was dismissed immediately, despite the critic's love of the collection. In spite of this dismissal, Jacobs continued to garner more fans, more fashion power and more plans to expand.

Now known for marching to the beat of his own drummer, Marc Jacobs fashion has a distinct flavor and one that millions of men and women all over the world love. Each collection is different, however infused with Jacobs's sense of style, balance and chic. Marc Jacobs's handbags are an extension of his fashion flare and echo the creative sophistication Marc lends to his clothing designs.

Stella Bag - The Stella Bag by Marc Jacobs is another wonderful Jacobs' handbag design. An instant classic, the Stella bag is made from high-quality calfskin leather. It is a functional, classic handbag with adjustable dual buckled handles. The brushed nickel hardware includes the push lock closure on each front pocket. The handy front dual pockets and large outside zippered pocket provide tons of storage.

Pochette - The Marc Jacobs Pochette purse is a little piece of handbag heaven. In Wintergreen or Rouge, this vegetable-tanned leather purse is a chic accessory. In standard Jacobs' style, there's a twist on the classic - the long straps attach to the bottom of the bag. Flap closure and standard signature push lock and hardware in aged brass, makes for a distinct look.

Chevron Caroline Bag - The V-shaped chevron stripe on the Chevron Caroline bag make an interesting geometric pattern on this pretty goat skin tote. With a metal feel and snug closing push lock, this is a surprisingly sturdy sack. Braided leather handles, suede lining and luxurious brass and leather frame lend a vintage look to this Jacobs creation.
