Born in New York City in 1963, Marc Jacobs' life has been moving in the direction of high fashion since he set foot in the High School of Art and Design he attended as a teenager. As a young man, Jacobs attended the Parson School of Design, where he made his mark as an up-and-coming innovative young designer. It was at Parson that Jacobs designed his first collection. His hand-knit sweaters were distributed by well-known store Charivari. Marc was dismissed immediately, despite the critic's love of the collection. In spite of this dismissal, Jacobs continued to garner more fans, more fashion power and more plans to expand.
