Maya Handbags and Purses

Founded in 1985, the Maya company began producing unique resin purses with unique materials and exceptional features. Each purse's strap is an intricate piece of jewelry and can be worn as a belt or necklace, as well as being the strap for the purse. Removing the strap from the purse gives you a clutch as well as an extra accessory.

Maya handbags are more than just a handbag - they are show stoppers. Each piece is hand-made and molded from resin, which provides a hard, durable shell for all shapes, sizes and patterns. Synthetic resins are thick polymer liquids that harden quickly and can be poured into any mold. Resin can be dyed, carved and cut to make any shape, design, or pattern desired.

Resin may not sound like a fashionable substance, but in the hands of mother-daughter team Maya and Veni, the resin composites are transformed into dazzling and delightful works of art you can wear. Maya purses come in animal and plant textures like Boa, or beautiful flower patterns. Virtually any design or whim can be made possible by Maya's resin method. Colors can range from shimmering pearl white, to petal soft pink, to dark brown and black. Anything is possible in a Maya purse.

To create the most intricate and interesting purses a girl could want, the Maya and Veni team use precious crystals, semi-precious stones, silver, gold and beads to adorn the colored and carved resin composites. All jewelry pieces are made of semi-precious stones and precious metals such as silver and gold.

Figural Purse - The almost hexagonal shape of the figural purse by Maya is perfect for the hand-carved figure of a winged woman. In opaque pink, the carved figure is a lovely, moving piece. Pearls, rose quartz and crystal pieces add to the soft shimmer that the purse emanates. The detachable strap makes a beautiful accessory and a complement to the clutch.

Oriental Swan Purse - The oriental swan purse is dark in color and looks like carved mahogany rather than resin. The strap is beaded and includes leather, which makes it able to be worn as a belt. Rich dark colors and intricately carved detail make this Maya purse a truly one-of-a-kind find.
