JanSport Luggage

In 1967, JanSport was founded by business partners and outdoor enthusiasts Skip Yowell, Murray Pletz and Jan Lewis, in Seattle, Washington.

JanSport has always been a manufacturer of quality outdoor sporting equipment and luggage - from their flexible frame pack, panel loading backpack to the Eskimo Igloo dome tent. JanSport was asked to design a suitable backpack for the 1972 Dhaulagiris Expedition, in the Himalayas, because of their innovative, convenient and durable backpack designs. JanSport responded with the D-2; a technical pack featuring an adjustable hip arm.

JanSport backpacks really didn't gain real popularity with the general camping public until the mid-1980s. Even today, JanSport's classic daypack remains the same in design as it did almost 30 years ago.

Today, JanSport backpacks still carry the survivalist spirit from the Himalayan expedition. Available in colors like Anarchy green, platinum, copper and black, JanSport's backpacks, totes, duffels and wheeled luggage are meant for the adventure traveler.
