Timberland Luggage
Timberland, perhaps better known as a purveyor of polar fleece hoodies and matching bottoms then for luggage, was founded by shoemaker Nathan Swartz, in 1918. In 1952 Swartz became partner in what was then known as the Abington Shoe Company, a company making boots for L.L.Bean. Swartz would later come to purchase the entire Abington Shoe Co.
In the 1960s, the Swartz family introduced injection-molding technology into their footwear - making Timberland the designer of the first waterproof boot. During the 1970's, waterproofing shoes, luggage, backpacks and outerwear became such 'the rage' that Swartz changed his companies name to Timberland, to reflect the weatherproofing frenzy.
Today, along with footwear, Timberland is a producer of durable t-shirts, polar fleece clothing, shoes and jeans, as well as being the manufacturer of a very reasonably priced collection of luggage, camping backpacks and urban totes. A Timberland backpack is an average of $150 online, while a Timberland upright, wheeled suitcase is approximately $200 online.

Timberland 27-inch Expandable Upright - is fashioned of durable ballistic nylon fabric with Teflon coating.
