Leather Purses

Ask almost any woman what her dream handbag is and most will scream, "Give me leather!" Leather handbags are the most classic of all handbags. A designer leather handbag in a timeless design will be as fashionable in ten years as it is today! In fact, most fashion mavens consider the leather handbag - like the crisp white blouse - a closet staple that should be considered a "must have" in every woman's wardrobe.

Although many women are turned off by the outrageous price of leather handbags, a leather bag will continue to outlast a handbag made with almost any other synthetic material. Calf skin leather, the most premium type of leather used to make handbags, only improves with age - both in the way it looks and the way it feels. The normal wear and tear that your handbag undergoes - the tossing, bumping and friction - will only add to your handbags lifespan by helping to soften the calfskin leather, so it's even more buttery to the touch and richer to the visual senses as well.

True, leather, especially premium leather such as calfskin, is extremely expensive; however, a leather handbag is only as good as the leather it's made from. For example, a low-end genuine leather handbag might cost anywhere from $60 to $150, while a genuine leather Gucci, Prada or Kenneth Cole designer handbag can cost you upwards of $600.

If you decide to spend a little extra on a classical style, calfskin leather handbag you will save money in the long run. You find yourself with a designer handbag that will dress up or compliment almost any outfit - from casual jeans and a blazer to a Prada suit, and better yet it will be yours to enjoy for decades to come!

i agree with what you're saying about spending a little extra on a designer handbag and I thought I was doing just that when I purchased one for $565 only to find that after 3 uses, the interior lining of the purse began to unravel on both sides and the leather around the rings on the handles started to unwind. The 'designer' is Filippa Sweet and I am having trouble locating a supplier as the store where it was purchased from is not helping in any way, shape or form. I am beginning to think that I have been, shall we say, 'bamboozled'. Can you help?
